Ingredients

1 cup hazelnuts, roasted and skins removed

1/2 cup dark chocolate (70% cocoa), chopped

1/4 cup powdered sugar (adjust to taste)

2 tablespoons coconut oil or unsalted butter

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon sea salt

2-3 tablespoons milk (dairy or non-dairy, adjust for desired consistency)

Instructions

Prepare Hazelnuts: If the hazelnuts are not already roasted, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and spread the hazelnuts on a baking sheet. Roast them for about 10-12 minutes or until golden and fragrant, stirring halfway through. Let them cool slightly, then rub them in a clean kitchen towel to remove the skins.

Melt Chocolate: In a heatproof bowl, combine the chopped dark chocolate and coconut oil (or butter). Melt gently over a double boiler or in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth. Set aside to cool slightly.

Blend the Hazelnuts: In a food processor, place the roasted hazelnuts and process on high speed until they turn into a creamy nut butter, scraping down the sides as needed. This may take several minutes.

Combine Ingredients: Once the hazelnuts are smooth, add the melted chocolate mixture, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and sea salt. Blend until all ingredients are combined and the dip is smooth. If it is too thick, slowly add milk one tablespoon at a time until you reach your desired consistency.

Taste and Adjust: Taste the dip and adjust sweetness by adding more powdered sugar if desired. Blend again to combine.

Chill: Transfer the dip to a serving bowl and chill in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Serve: Serve your sweet chocolate hazelnut dip with fresh fruit, pretzels, graham crackers, or simply enjoy it with a spoon!
