Ingredients

For the meatballs:

1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey)

1/2 cup breadcrumbs

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 cup finely chopped parsley

1 large egg

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

For the honey garlic sauce:

1/2 cup honey

1/4 cup soy sauce

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated

1 tablespoon cornstarch (for thickening)

2 tablespoons water

Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

Prepare the meatballs: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, egg, minced garlic, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined—do not overmix.

Shape the meatballs: Use your hands to form the mixture into small meatballs (about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter) and place them on the prepared baking sheet spaced apart.

Bake the meatballs: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes or until meatballs are cooked through and golden brown. (Internal temperature should reach 160°F/70°C for beef and 165°F/74°C for turkey.)

Make the honey garlic sauce: While the meatballs are baking, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and grated ginger in a small saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a gentle simmer.

Thicken the sauce: In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with water to create a slurry. Slowly whisk this into the simmering sauce. Continue to simmer for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.

Combine meatballs and sauce: Once the meatballs are done baking, remove them from the oven and carefully transfer them to a large bowl. Pour the honey garlic sauce over the meatballs, tossing them gently to coat evenly.

Serve: Transfer the glazed meatballs to a serving platter, and garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions. Serve hot with rice or noodles, or enjoy as an appetizer!
