Ingredients

1 pound ground turkey

1 cup fresh spinach, chopped

1/2 cup feta cheese, crumbled

1/4 cup plain breadcrumbs

1 clove garlic, minced

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 tablespoon olive oil (for cooking)

4 whole wheat burger buns

Optional toppings: sliced tomatoes, red onion, and tzatziki sauce

Instructions

Prepare the Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped spinach, crumbled feta cheese, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and dried oregano. Mix until all the ingredients are well incorporated.

Form the Turkey Patties: In a separate bowl, take the ground turkey and gently mix in the breadcrumbs. Divide the turkey into 8 equal portions. Flatten each portion into a patty.

Stuff the Patties: Place about 2 tablespoons of the spinach and feta mixture in the center of 4 patties. Top each with another turkey patty, pressing down gently to seal the edges. Make sure the filling is completely enclosed.

Cook the Burgers: Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the stuffed turkey burgers. Cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the burgers are golden brown.

Toast the Buns: While the burgers are cooking, you can toast the whole wheat buns on a separate pan until golden.

Assemble the Burgers: Once cooked, place the turkey burgers on the toasted buns. Add your choice of toppings such as sliced tomatoes, red onion, and a dollop of tzatziki sauce for a refreshing finish.

Serve and Enjoy: Serve the stuffed turkey burgers with a side of mixed greens or sweet potato fries for a complete meal!
