1 package (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or cheese of your choice)

1 egg (for egg wash)

Preheat the oven: Start by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

    Prepare the sausage filling: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the breakfast sausage until it's browned and fully cooked, breaking it apart with a spatula. Stir in the maple syrup, onion powder, garlic powder, and black pepper. Once combined, remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

      Roll out the dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough on a clean surface and pinch the seams together to create a large rectangle. You can gently stretch it out if needed to form an even layer.
