Ingredients

4 medium-sized Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and sliced

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats

1/2 cup packed brown sugar

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

1/2 cup salted caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)

Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream, for serving (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Prepare the Apples: In a large bowl, mix the sliced apples with lemon juice, granulated sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Toss until the apples are well coated and let them sit for about 10 minutes.

Make the Crumble Topping: In another bowl, combine the flour, rolled oats, brown sugar, and salt. Stir in the melted butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Layer the Apples: Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish and pour the seasoned apple mixture into the dish, spreading it evenly. Drizzle the salted caramel sauce over the apples, allowing it to seep in.

Add the Crumble Topping: Evenly sprinkle the crumble topping over the caramel-drizzled apples. Make sure to cover the apples completely, leaving no gaps.

Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender.

Cool & Serve: Remove from the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes. Serve warm, topped with whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream if desired, and drizzle with additional salted caramel sauce.
