Ingredients

2 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)

1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce

2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 teaspoon minced garlic

1 teaspoon minced ginger

1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for glaze)

1 cup broccoli florets

1 teaspoon sesame seeds (for garnish)

Green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Marinate the Salmon: In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and minced ginger. Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Let it marinate for 15 minutes, flipping halfway through.

Prepare the Broccoli: While the salmon marinates, set up a steamer basket over boiling water. Add the broccoli florets and steam for about 5-7 minutes, or until bright green and tender-crisp. Remove from heat and set aside.

Cook the Salmon: Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the salmon from the marinade and place it skin-side down in the skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes. Flip the salmon carefully and cook for an additional 4 minutes, or until cooked through.

Create the Glaze: For a thicker sauce, place the remaining marinade in a small saucepan and bring to a simmer. Add cornstarch mixed with a tablespoon of water to the sauce, stirring until thickened. Drizzle over the cooked salmon before serving if desired.

Serve: Plate the salmon and steamed broccoli. Drizzle any extra sauce over the dish. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions for an extra kick of flavor and color. Enjoy your meal!
