Quick Beef and Vegetable Stir-Fry with Rice

1 lb (450g) beef sirloin, thinly sliced

2 cups mixed vegetables (bell peppers, broccoli, and carrots)

3 tablespoons soy sauce

2 tablespoons oyster sauce

1 tablespoon sesame oil

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon ginger, grated

2 cups cooked jasmine rice

2 tablespoons vegetable oil (for frying)

Salt and pepper to taste

Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Instructions
 

Marinate the Beef: In a bowl, combine the sliced beef with 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes to absorb the flavors.

    Prepare the Vegetables: While the beef is marinating, wash and chop the mixed vegetables into bite-sized pieces for even cooking.

      Heat the Pan: In a large wok or skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the marinated beef in a single layer. Allow it to sear without stirring for about 1-2 minutes, then stir-fry until browned and cooked through, approximately 3-4 minutes. Remove the beef from the pan and set it aside.

        Stir-Fry the Vegetables: In the same pan, add the remaining tablespoon of oil. Throw in the mixed vegetables and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes, or until they are tender-crisp. Season with the remaining tablespoon of soy sauce and the oyster sauce, ensuring the veggies are well-coated.

          Combine: Return the cooked beef to the pan with the vegetables and stir to combine. Allow everything to cook together for an additional 1-2 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.

            Serve: On a plate, serve a generous portion of jasmine rice topped with the beef and vegetable stir-fry. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and sliced green onions for garnish.
