Quick Beef and Broccoli Stir-Fry

500g beef sirloin, thinly sliced

2 cups broccoli florets

1 red bell pepper, sliced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1-inch piece of ginger, grated

3 tablespoons soy sauce (low sodium recommended)

2 tablespoons oyster sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

2 tablespoons vegetable oil (divided)

1 tablespoon sesame oil

½ teaspoon black pepper

½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Cooked white rice or quinoa, for serving

Toasted sesame seeds and chopped green onions, for garnish

Instructions
 

Marinate the Beef: In a medium bowl, combine the sliced beef with soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Mix thoroughly and set aside to marinate for 15 minutes.

    Prepare the Vegetables: While the beef is marinating, wash and prepare the broccoli and bell pepper. Ensure the broccoli florets are a uniform size for even cooking.

      Heat the Pan: In a large wok or frying pan, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over high heat until it's shimmering.

        Stir-Fry the Beef: Add the marinated beef to the hot pan in a single layer. Sear for about 2 minutes until browned, without stirring, then toss and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until just cooked through. Remove the beef from the pan and set aside.
