Ingredients

1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined

4 cloves garlic, minced

1/4 cup fresh lime juice (about 2 limes)

Zest of 1 lime

2 tablespoons olive oil

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to your heat preference)

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh cilantro or parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Prep the Shrimp: Rinse the shrimp under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. This helps them sear better in the pan.

Make the Marinade: In a medium bowl, combine the minced garlic, lime juice, lime zest, olive oil, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Whisk until well combined.

Marinate the Shrimp: Add the shrimp to the marinade, ensuring they are coated evenly. Let them marinate for about 15 minutes while you prepare other ingredients.

Heat the Pan: Preheat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add a splash of olive oil to the pan to prevent sticking.

Cook the Shrimp: Once the pan is hot, add the marinated shrimp in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes on one side until they turn pink and start to curl.

Flip and Finish: Using tongs, flip the shrimp to the other side and cook for another 1-2 minutes, until fully cooked and opaque.

Garnish and Serve: Remove the skillet from heat. Garnish with fresh cilantro or parsley and serve immediately with lime wedges on the side for extra zing.
