1 lb fresh asparagus, trimmed

3 tablespoons olive oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

½ teaspoon salt (to taste)

¼ teaspoon black pepper

½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

Zest of 1 lemon

Juice of ½ lemon

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Preheat the Oven: Start by preheating your oven to 425°F (220°C). This high temperature allows the asparagus to roast properly, ensuring a nice crisp-tender texture.

    Prepare the Asparagus: Wash and trim the woody ends off the asparagus. They should bend easily; if you’re unsure, you can also trim about 1-2 inches from the bottom.

      Seasoning Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine the olive oil, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, lemon zest, and lemon juice. This mixture will infuse the asparagus with wonderful flavor.

        Coat the Asparagus: Add the trimmed asparagus to the bowl and toss well to coat each spear with the garlic-infused olive oil mixture.

          Arrange on Baking Sheet: Lay the seasoned asparagus in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Make sure the spears are not overcrowded to allow for even roasting.
