Ingredients

8 chicken drumsticks

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 cup panko breadcrumbs

2 teaspoons garlic powder

2 teaspoons onion powder

1 tablespoon dried Italian herbs (oregano, thyme, basil)

1 teaspoon paprika

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 cup olive oil

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Zest of 1 lemon (optional, for added brightness)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

Prepare the Dry Mix: In a large mixing bowl, combine the grated Parmesan cheese, panko breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, dried Italian herbs, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until evenly combined.

Prepare the Chicken: Pat the chicken drumsticks dry with paper towels. This helps the coating stick better. In a separate bowl, drizzle the olive oil over the drumsticks, tossing them to ensure they are evenly coated.

Coat the Drumsticks: Take each drumstick, one at a time, and roll it in the breadcrumb mixture. Press the mixture onto the chicken firmly to ensure it adheres well. Place the coated drumsticks on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each piece.

Bake the Chicken: Once all drumsticks are coated, place the baking sheet in the preheated oven. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through (an internal temperature of 165°F or 75°C).

Garnish and Serve: After baking, remove the drumsticks from the oven. If desired, sprinkle with fresh parsley and lemon zest for a burst of freshness. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce or alongside a fresh salad.
