Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

2 cups broccoli florets (fresh or frozen)

1 cup uncooked rice (preferably long grain)

1 medium onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

3 cups beef broth

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup cream of mushroom soup (or use a homemade version)

1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

1 tsp Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper to taste

Optional: Red pepper flakes for a spicy kick

Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

Sauté the Beef: In a large skillet or a deep sauté pan over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it up with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess grease if needed.

Add Vegetables: To the skillet, add the diced onion and minced garlic. Sauté until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

Incorporate Rice: Stir in the uncooked rice and cook for another 1-2 minutes, allowing it to absorb the flavors.

Mix in Broth and Seasonings: Pour in the beef broth, cream of mushroom soup, Worcestershire sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well to combine.

Add Broccoli: Fold in the broccoli florets, ensuring they are well distributed throughout the mixture.

Bring to a Simmer: Increase heat to high and bring the mixture to a gentle boil. Once boiling, reduce heat to low, cover, and let it simmer for about 20-25 minutes, or until the rice is fully cooked and has absorbed most of the liquid.

Add Cheese: Once the rice is cooked, stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted and creamy. Optionally, add red pepper flakes for a hint of spice.

Serve: Remove from heat, let sit for 5 minutes to slightly thicken. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
