1 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon salt

Vegetable oil (for frying)

For Assembly:

Pickles (slices, optional)

Maple syrup (for drizzling)

Fresh herbs (like parsley or chives, for garnish)

Instructions

Make the Mini Waffles:

    - Preheat your waffle maker according to the manufacturer's instructions.

      - In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

        - In another bowl, combine the buttermilk, egg, and melted butter. Pour this wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.

          - Lightly grease the waffle maker and pour the batter in, cooking until golden brown and crispy. Repeat until all batter is used, making about 8 mini waffles. Keep warm.

            Prepare the Chicken:

              - Soak the chicken strips in 1 cup of buttermilk for at least 30 minutes (or up to 2 hours in the fridge for a deeper flavor).

                - In a shallow dish, mix the flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt.

                  - Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat (about 350°F or 175°C).

                    - Dredge the soaked chicken strips in the seasoned flour, shaking off any excess.

                      - Fry the chicken strips in batches until golden brown and cooked through (about 5-7 minutes per side). Drain on paper towels.

                        Assemble the Sliders:

                          - Place one mini waffle on a plate as the base, add a piece of fried chicken on top, followed by a quarter slice of cheddar cheese.

                            - Optionally add a slice of pickle for a tangy crunch.

                              - Top with another mini waffle to create a slider. Repeat for remaining waffles and chicken.

                                - Drizzle with maple syrup and sprinkle with fresh herbs before serving.
