Ingredients

1 can (8 oz) crescent roll dough

1 cup cooked chicken, shredded or diced

1 cup shredded Mexican cheese blend

1/2 cup taco sauce (plus extra for dipping)

1/4 cup finely chopped onions

1/4 cup diced bell peppers (red or green)

1 teaspoon ground cumin

1 teaspoon chili powder

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Sour cream (for serving, optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

Prepare the Filling: In a medium bowl, mix together the cooked chicken, shredded cheese, taco sauce, chopped onions, diced bell peppers, ground cumin, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir until well combined.

Unroll the Dough: Carefully unroll the crescent roll dough onto a clean surface. Instead of separating into triangles, pinch the seams together to form a rectangle.

Cut the Dough: Using a pizza cutter or sharp knife, cut the dough into 8 equal triangles.

Assemble the Taco Rings: On a baking sheet, place the triangles with the wide end facing outwards, forming a star shape. Spoon the chicken mixture equally onto the wide end of each triangle.

Wrap the Dough: Fold the point of each triangle over the filling and then fold it under the ring to secure. Repeat with all triangles until the filling is wrapped.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until the crescent dough is golden brown and cooked through.

Serve: Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly. Garnish with chopped cilantro if desired, and serve with extra taco sauce and sour cream on the side.
