Ingredients

1 lb (450g) ground beef

1 lb (450g) Italian sausage, casing removed

1 cup pepperoni slices

1 cup cooked and crumbled bacon

1 medium onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tsp Italian seasoning

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1 1/2 cups marinara sauce

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

8 taco-sized flour or corn tortillas

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Cook the Meats: In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and Italian sausage. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, breaking the meat apart with a spatula until browned and fully cooked. Drain any excess grease.

Add Aromatics: Stir in the diced onion and cook for another 3-4 minutes until they become translucent. Add in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute, stirring until fragrant.

Season the Mixture: Incorporate the Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper into the meat mixture. Stir well to combine.

Add Pepperoni and Bacon: Mix in the pepperoni slices and crumbled bacon, cooking for another 2-3 minutes until the pepperoni is slightly crispy.

Combine with Marinara: Pour in the marinara sauce, stirring to blend everything together. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes on low heat until warmed through.

Prepare Tortillas: While the meat mixture simmers, warm the tortillas on a dry skillet over medium heat for about 15-20 seconds on each side, or until pliable.

Assemble the Tacos: Spoon a generous amount of the meat mixture onto each tortilla. Top with shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese.

Melt the Cheese (Optional): If you'd like melted cheese, place the filled tacos in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes or until the cheese is gooey and bubbly.

Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese. Garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired. Serve warm with additional marinara sauce on the side for dipping.
