2 large yellow onions

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko for extra crunch)

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon paprika

½ teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

1 large egg

1 cup cold buttermilk (or regular milk)

Vegetable oil, for frying

Prepare the Onions: Slice each onion into ½-inch thick rings and carefully separate the rings from each other. Set aside.

    Make the Breading: In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Stir well to combine.

      Prepare the Wet Mixture: In another bowl, whisk together the cold buttermilk and egg until fully combined.

        Coat the Onion Rings: Dip each onion ring first into the flour mixture, making sure to coat it thoroughly.
