1 pound fresh asparagus, trimmed

4 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons olive oil

Zest of 1 lemon

2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

Salt and black pepper, to taste

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).

    Prepare Asparagus: Rinse the asparagus spears under cold water and pat dry. Trim the tough ends by gently bending the spears until they snap.

      Make the Mixture: In a small bowl, combine the minced garlic, olive oil, lemon zest, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Mix well to ensure the garlic is evenly distributed.

        Toss Asparagus: In a large mixing bowl, add the trimmed asparagus. Pour the garlic-lemon mixture over the asparagus and toss until the spears are well coated.

          Arrange on Baking Sheet: Spread the coated asparagus in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, ensuring they are not crowded for even roasting.

            Roast: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and roast for 15–20 minutes or until the asparagus is tender and slightly crispy, stirring halfway through for even cooking.
