Ingredients

2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced

1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, loosely packed

1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 4-6 lemons)

1/2 cup granulated sugar (or to taste)

2 cups cold water

3 cups ice cubes

Extra basil leaves for garnish

Lemon slices for garnish

Instructions

Prepare the Strawberries: In a blender, combine the sliced strawberries and basil leaves. Blend until smooth and set aside.

Make the Lemonade Base: In a separate bowl, whisk together the freshly squeezed lemon juice and granulated sugar until the sugar is completely dissolved. You can adjust the sweetness by adding more sugar, if desired.

Mix the Lemonade: Pour the lemon juice mixture into the blender with the strawberry-basil puree. Add the cold water and blend until everything is well combined.

Add Ice: Add the ice cubes to the blender and pulse until the mixture is slushy and smooth. If your blender struggles with the ice, you can blend the strawberry-basil mixture and the lemon juice mixture separately before combining them with the ice.

Taste and Adjust: Before serving, taste the frozen lemonade. If you’d like it sweeter, add a bit more sugar or honey and blend briefly to mix.

Serve: Spoon the Frozen Strawberry Basil Lemonade into chilled glasses. Garnish with extra basil leaves and lemon slices for a fresh touch.

Enjoy: Serve immediately with a straw or a spoon, and enjoy the refreshing taste of summer!
