Once you've poured the yogurt mixture into your chosen molds, it’s time for the most critical phase: freezing. Achieving the perfect texture is essential for your Frosty Apple Cinnamon Yogurt Rings. For this, allow the yogurt rings to freeze for a minimum of 4 to 6 hours. This duration ensures that the rings are firm enough to hold their shape while still maintaining a creamy interior.

Ingredients

2 cups plain Greek yogurt

1 cup unsweetened applesauce

2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (adjust for sweetness)

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 medium apple, finely diced (preferably a sweet variety like Honeycrisp or Fuji)

¼ cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

A pinch of salt

Non-stick cooking spray (for the mold)

Instructions

Prepare the Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, applesauce, honey (or maple syrup), ground cinnamon, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated and smooth.

Add Chunks: Gently fold in the finely diced apple and chopped nuts (if using) into the yogurt mixture. Make sure the apple pieces are evenly distributed throughout the mixture.

Prep the Mold: Spray a silicone donut mold or any ring-shaped mold with non-stick cooking spray. This will help in easily removing the yogurt rings after freezing.

Fill the Mold: Carefully spoon the yogurt mixture into the mold, filling each cavity almost to the top. Smooth the surface with a small spatula or the back of a spoon.

Freeze: Place the filled mold in the freezer for at least 4-6 hours, or until fully frozen.

Remove & Serve: Once frozen solid, remove the yogurt rings from the mold by gently pressing from the bottom. If they stick, let them sit for a few minutes at room temperature or dip the mold briefly in warm water to loosen.

Enjoy: Serve immediately as a refreshing snack or dessert. You can also drizzle a little extra honey or sprinkle more cinnamon on top for added flavor!
