Ingredients

1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 tablespoon paprika

1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon dried thyme

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

Prepare the Shrimp: In a medium bowl, combine the peeled and deveined shrimp with olive oil, fresh lemon juice, and all the spices: paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, thyme, salt, and black pepper. Toss until the shrimp are evenly coated with the seasoning mix.

Heat the Pan: Preheat a large cast-iron skillet or non-stick pan over medium-high heat. Add a tablespoon of olive oil and allow it to heat until shimmering but not smoking.

Cook the Shrimp: Carefully place the seasoned shrimp in the hot skillet in a single layer. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on one side until they get a nice char and are opaque. Avoid overcrowding the pan; you may need to do this in batches.

Flip and Finish: Flip the shrimp and cook for another 1-2 minutes on the other side. They should be cooked through and have a beautiful blackened crust.

Garnish and Serve: Remove the shrimp from the skillet and transfer them to a serving platter. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side.
