Ingredients

250g Halloumi cheese, cut into thick slices

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs, beaten

1 cup panko breadcrumbs

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp dried oregano

1/2 tsp paprika

Salt and pepper, to taste

1/4 cup vegetable oil (for frying)

Fresh lemon wedges (for serving)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Station: Set up a breading station with three shallow dishes. Place the flour in the first dish, the beaten eggs in the second, and mix the panko breadcrumbs with garlic powder, dried oregano, paprika, salt, and pepper in the third.

Coat the Halloumi: Dip each slice of Halloumi first into the flour, ensuring it is fully coated. Shake off any excess flour, then dip it into the beaten eggs, and finally, press it firmly into the panko mixture to coat well. Repeat with all slices.

Heat the Oil: In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. To check if the oil is ready, drop in a small piece of panko; if it sizzles, it's time to cook the cheese.

Fry the Halloumi: Carefully place the breaded Halloumi slices into the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy.

Drain and Serve: Once cooked, transfer the crunchy Halloumi to a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil. Serve immediately with fresh lemon wedges and sprinkle with chopped parsley for garnish.

Enjoy: Pair this delicious crispy Halloumi with your favorite dipping sauce or a fresh salad for a delightful meal!
