Ingredients

6 large flour tortillas

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1 cup shredded pepper jack cheese

1 cup finely chopped jalapeños (fresh or pickled, adjust to taste)

1/2 cup cooked and crumbled bacon

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp onion powder

Salt and pepper to taste

1 cup panko breadcrumbs

1 cup buttermilk (or regular milk)

Cooking oil for frying (like vegetable or canola oil)

Instructions

Prepare the Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sharp cheddar, pepper jack cheese, chopped jalapeños, crumbled bacon, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated.

Assemble the Wraps: Lay a flour tortilla flat on a clean surface. Spoon about 1/4 cup of the jalapeño popper filling onto the center of the tortilla, spreading it out evenly. Fold in the sides of the tortilla and then roll it tightly from the bottom up to create a wrap. Repeat this process with the remaining tortillas and filling.

Coat the Wraps: In a shallow bowl, pour the buttermilk. In another shallow bowl, add the panko breadcrumbs. Dip each wrap in the buttermilk and then roll it in the panko breadcrumbs until fully coated. This will give the wraps a crunchy texture once fried.

Fry the Wraps: In a deep frying pan or skillet, heat about 1-2 inches of cooking oil over medium heat. Once the oil is hot (approximately 350°F or 175°C), carefully add the prepared wraps, a few at a time, to avoid overcrowding. Fry each wrap for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and crispy.

Drain and Serve: Remove the fried wraps from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. Allow them to cool slightly before slicing each wrap in half for easier serving. Enjoy with your favorite dipping sauce, such as ranch, salsa, or guacamole!
