Ingredients

14 oz firm tofu, pressed and cubed

1 tablespoon olive oil

2 tablespoons cornstarch

1 teaspoon chili powder

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/2 teaspoon salt

Juice of 1 lime

Zest of 1 lime

1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (for vegan option)

Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)

Lime wedges (for serving)

Instructions

Prep the Tofu: Start by pressing the tofu for at least 30 minutes to remove excess moisture. After pressing, cut the tofu into 1-inch cubes and set aside.

Coat the Tofu: In a bowl, combine the cornstarch, chili powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and salt. Toss the cubed tofu in the mixture until all pieces are evenly coated.

Season with Lime: In another small bowl, whisk together lime juice, lime zest, and honey (or maple syrup). Pour this mixture over the coated tofu cubes, ensuring they are well coated. Let the tofu marinate for about 15 minutes.

Bake the Tofu: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Spread the marinated tofu cubes in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Drizzle olive oil over the top.

Bake to Perfection: Bake the tofu cubes in the preheated oven for 25–30 minutes, flipping them halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy.

Garnish and Serve: Once done, remove the tofu from the oven. Sprinkle with fresh cilantro and serve with lime wedges on the side.
