Ingredients

1/2 cup popcorn kernels

3 tablespoons coconut oil (or any preferred oil)

1 teaspoon sea salt (adjust to taste)

1 tablespoon chili powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

Zest of 1 lime

2 tablespoons fresh lime juice

1 tablespoon melted butter (optional for richness)

1 tablespoon nutritional yeast (optional for a cheesy flavor)

Fresh cilantro leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Pop the Popcorn: In a large pot, heat the coconut oil over medium heat. Add about 3 popcorn kernels to the pot and cover it. Once those kernels pop, add the rest of the popcorn kernels and cover the pot. Shake the pot gently while the popcorn pops, around 3-5 minutes, or until popping slows down significantly. Remove from heat.

Prepare the Seasoning: In a small bowl, combine sea salt, chili powder, smoked paprika, and lime zest. If using nutritional yeast, add that to the mixture as well.

Mix Lime Juice: In another small bowl, whisk together the lime juice with the melted butter (if using). This will help the seasoning adhere to the popcorn.

Combine: Carefully transfer the popped popcorn to a large mixing bowl. Drizzle the lime juice and butter mixture over the popcorn, tossing gently to coat evenly.

Season: Sprinkle the chili lime seasoning over the popcorn and toss again to make sure all the popcorn is evenly coated with the spices.

Garnish: If desired, garnish with fresh cilantro leaves for a touch of freshness.

Serve: Enjoy your Crunchy Chili Lime Popcorn warm or at room temperature as a zesty snack.
