Ingredients

8 oz (225 g) block of feta cheese

1 cup panko breadcrumbs

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

2 tablespoons olive oil

2 teaspoons dried oregano

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh herbs (like parsley or thyme) for garnish

Lemon wedges for serving

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easier cleanup.

Prepare Feta: Pat the feta cheese block dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. This will help achieve a crispier crust.

Make the Crust Mixture: In a mixing bowl, combine the panko breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, olive oil, dried oregano, garlic powder, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Mix well until the breadcrumbs are evenly coated with the olive oil.

Coat the Feta: Place the feta block in the center of the breadcrumb mixture. Press the mixture around the feta block, coating it completely on all sides. Ensure the coating is thick enough to create a crunchy crust.

Bake the Feta: Transfer the coated feta onto the prepared baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and crispy.

Cool and Serve: Once out of the oven, let the feta cool for a few minutes. Cut into cubes or serve it whole with a sprinkle of fresh herbs on top.

Enjoy: Serve warm with lemon wedges on the side for drizzling, and accompany with crusty bread or fresh vegetables for dipping.
