12 oz (340g) pasta of choice (fettuccine or linguine work well)

1 cup fresh basil leaves

1/4 cup pine nuts (or walnuts)

2 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil

Juice and zest of 1 large lemon

1 cup heavy cream

Salt and pepper to taste

Extra Parmesan and fresh basil for garnish

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.
