12 oz spaghetti or your choice of pasta

2 ripe avocados, pitted and peeled

1 cup fresh basil leaves, packed

2 cloves garlic, minced

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (plus extra for serving)

2 tablespoons lemon juice (about 1 lemon)

1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil

Salt and black pepper, to taste

Cherry tomatoes, halved (for garnish)

Extra basil leaves, for garnish

Crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

Instructions
 

Cook the Pasta:

    Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve about 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta and set aside.

      Prepare the Avocado Sauce:

        In a food processor, combine the avocados, basil leaves, minced garlic, Parmesan cheese, lemon juice, and olive oil. Blend until smooth and creamy. If the sauce is too thick, gradually add some of the reserved pasta water until you reach your desired consistency.

          Combine Pasta with Sauce:

            In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked pasta with the creamy avocado sauce. Toss well to ensure the pasta is evenly coated. If needed, add more reserved pasta water for a creamier texture.

              Season:
