Ingredients

20 large pasta shells

1 cup ricotta cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 large egg

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs (oregano, basil, thyme)

Salt and pepper to taste

2 cups marinara sauce (store-bought or homemade)

Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Cook the Pasta Shells: In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the pasta shells according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside to cool slightly.

Prepare the Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, 1/2 cup mozzarella, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic powder, Italian herbs, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.

Stuff the Shells: Using a teaspoon or piping bag, carefully fill each cooked shell with the cheese mixture.

Assemble the Dish: Spread 1 cup of marinara sauce evenly on the bottom of a baking dish. Place the stuffed shells seam-side up in the dish. Pour the remaining marinara sauce over the shells, making sure they are evenly coated.

Add Cheese Topping: Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese on top of the shells.

Bake: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Then, remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.

Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving. Enjoy with a side of garlic bread or a fresh salad!
