Ingredients

1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1 cup cooked chili (homemade or canned)

1/2 cup diced onions (optional)

1/4 cup sliced jalapeños (optional)

1 egg (for egg wash)

1 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp paprika

1/4 tsp cumin

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh cilantro for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Start by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

Prepare the Crescent Dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough on a clean surface. Separate the dough into individual triangles along the pre-scored lines.

Mix the Filling: In a medium bowl, combine the cooked chili, shredded cheddar cheese, diced onions, jalapeños, garlic powder, paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper. Mix well to create a delicious filling.

Fill the Dough: Take one triangle of crescent roll dough and place a spoonful of the chili cheese mixture at the wider end of the triangle. Be careful not to overfill.

Roll the Crescents: Starting from the wide end, roll the dough towards the point to form a crescent shape. Make sure to tuck the filling inside as you roll. Place each rolled crescent on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each.

Prepare the Egg Wash: In a small bowl, whisk the egg with a splash of water to create an egg wash. Brush a light layer over each crescent roll for a golden finish.

Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are puffed and golden brown.

Garnish and Serve: Once baked, remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh cilantro if desired, then serve warm.
