Caprese Pasta Salad with Balsamic Glaze

8 oz (about 225g) of fusilli or rotini pasta

1 pint cherry tomatoes, halved

8 oz (approx. 225g) fresh mozzarella balls (bocconcini), halved

1 cup fresh basil leaves, torn into smaller pieces

1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil

1/4 cup balsamic glaze

1 clove garlic, minced

Salt and freshly cracked black pepper, to taste

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions
 

Cook the Pasta:

    Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and rinse under cold water to stop the cooking process. Set aside.

      Prep the Dressing:

        In a small bowl, whisk together the extra virgin olive oil, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). This simple dressing will enhance the flavors of the other ingredients.

          Combine Main Ingredients:

            In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked pasta, halved cherry tomatoes, mozzarella balls, and basil leaves.

              Dress the Salad:

                Pour the prepared dressing over the pasta mixture. Toss gently to ensure all ingredients are evenly coated.

                  Finish with Balsamic Glaze:
