Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 package (2 1/4 tsp) instant yeast

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 cup whole milk, warmed

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 large egg

1/2 cup cooked bacon, chopped

1 tsp ground cinnamon

Filling:

1/3 cup packed brown sugar

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

2 tbsp bourbon

1/2 cup cooked bacon, chopped

1 tsp vanilla extract

Bourbon Maple Glaze:

1 cup powdered sugar

2 tbsp maple syrup

1 tbsp bourbon

Pinch of salt

Instructions

Prepare the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, instant yeast, and salt. In a separate bowl, whisk together the warmed milk, melted butter, and egg. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry mixture, stirring until a soft dough forms.

Knead the Dough: On a floured surface, knead the dough for about 6-8 minutes until smooth. Form the dough into a ball and place it in a greased bowl. Cover with a kitchen towel and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.

Prepare the Filling: In a medium bowl, combine the softened butter, brown sugar, bourbon, vanilla extract, and chopped bacon. Mix well until combined.

Roll Out the Dough: After the dough has risen, punch it down and turn it out onto a floured surface. Roll the dough into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.

Add the Filling: Spread the bacon mixture evenly over the rolled-out dough, and sprinkle with ground cinnamon over the top.

Shape the Rolls: Starting from one long edge, carefully roll the dough tightly into a log. Cut the log into 12 equal slices.

Second Rise: Place the rolls in a greased baking dish, cover with a towel, and let them rise for another 30 minutes.

Bake: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes or until they are golden brown.

Make the Glaze: While the rolls are baking, whisk together the powdered sugar, maple syrup, bourbon, and a pinch of salt in a small bowl until smooth.

Glaze the Rolls: Once the rolls are out of the oven, drizzle the glaze over the warm rolls while they are still in the pan.

Serve and Enjoy: Allow the rolls to cool slightly before serving them warm, garnished with extra bacon bits if desired.
