Ingredients

1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

1 bunch asparagus, trimmed and cut into 2-inch pieces

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

Salt and pepper, to taste

1 tablespoon olive oil

Zest and juice of 1 lemon

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

Prep the Ingredients: Rinse the shrimp in cold water and pat dry. Trim the asparagus, making sure to remove the tough ends. Mince the garlic and chop the parsley. Set aside.

Cook the Asparagus: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the asparagus and sauté for about 4-5 minutes, or until tender-crisp. Season with salt and pepper. Remove the asparagus from the skillet and set aside.

Prepare the Garlic Butter Sauce: In the same skillet, add the butter and let it melt over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, stirring constantly for about 1-2 minutes until the garlic is fragrant but not browned.

Cook the Shrimp: Add the shrimp to the skillet, tossing them in the garlic butter mixture. Cook for about 3-4 minutes, or until the shrimp turn pink and opaque. Squeeze in the lemon juice and stir in the zest, seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.

Combine with Asparagus: Add the cooked asparagus back to the skillet and toss everything together gently. Cook for an additional minute to heat through.

Garnish and Serve: Remove from heat and garnish with chopped parsley. Serve hot with lemon wedges on the side for an extra zesty kick!
